About Our Partners

How our Partners Have Helped since 2012

We have been fortunate to receive support from a wide range of partners, and this has been critical to our success. As we continue to expand and grow, we remain committed to providing the highest standard of care to those who need it most.

HSBC

Two of the HSBC team were made aware of our charity and originally visited to make a one off donation. During that visit they were given a tour around the premises and insight into how the operation works, at which point they were taken aback and immediately committed to doing more. Following this visit, HSBC selected Birmingham Care Group as their charity of choice 2023 and due to the impact made through our joint collaboration have also chosen to continue our partnership for 2024.

Morrisons

Morrisons has been steadfast in its support for Birmingham Care Group throughout the pandemic and beyond. Their ongoing weekly donations have been a lifeline, and for the past three years, we've been privileged to be their designated charity for in-store donations. Kath Harris, along with the dedicated team, tirelessly champions our cause, ensuring the food pantry continues to thrive. Their generosity extends beyond just food; donations of clothing have provided essential aid to community members facing unemployment, homelessness, or limited financial resources.

Greggs

Greggs have supported our charity since 2017 and are one of our longest standing partnerships. Their donations increased during the pandemic and they continue to donate at this accelerated level on a weekly basis. Their donations include sandwiches, baguettes, pastries and pasties. Our beneficiaries save an average of £8-£10 per shop from these donations and couldn't be more grateful.

Warburtons

Warburtons donate 150 loaves of bread on a weekly basis. As we all know, bread is a staple for every family and so these weekly donations have become an essential part of our members' weekly shops. The team at Warburtons have been very supportive and have given us the freedom to organise collections and even increase the order whenever necessary. Our team and beneficiaries will be eternally grateful for their generosity.

Sunrise Bakery

Having built a good working relationship with Sunrise Bakery, Errol Drummond the owner donated a significant amount of West Indian bread and bun on a weekly basis. Believing in our mission to support our communities from the Caribbean, we continue to receive these items on a weekly basis. Again, this is a staple for our beneficiaries, Caribbean or not, who are accessing the food pantry. Our team and beneficiaries are extremely grateful for Sunrise Bakery’s contribution towards our mission of providing culturally sensitive foods to the wider community. Pete’s meats

Pete’s meats is a local meat supplier, who we originally approached to buy bulk meat for our beneficiaries. We quickly connected on a personal level, which led to their organisation offering donations and large discounts on all purchases made by us. These discounts are passed onto our members and for that, they now have access to high quality meats at affordable prices, and are very grateful to Pete’s Meats for this.

The Charity Bank

The Charity Bank has been a valued partner of our organisation for several years. They have supported Birmingham Care Group through our expansion and the development of our new premises, enabling us to open a community hub that has allowed us to secure jobs. We continue to build a strong relationship with the Charity Bank team, who understands our goals and aspirations to provide quality service to our community members.

Food Pantry

The only food pantry in Birmingham that offers culturally sensitive foods to our diverse community members. We offer a subsided member scheme for only £15 for the year, which entitles them to get a weekly shop for just £5.

Community Hub

The community hub offers a free, safe, warm space for our community members. This encourages community cohesion and social inclusion. It is also a welcome relief for those impacted by the cost of living crisis.

Lottery Awards for All

The National Lottery Awards for All England has supported Birmingham Care Group since 2013. They were the first funding we received towards opening our day centre for elderly and vulnerable adults. The Awards for All grant has made a significant impact on our projects over the years, allowing us to support our communities through various projects including our annual Bringing Communities Together event, Music Therapy, Basic Life Skills and our Elders Afternoon Tea!

Eveson Charitable Trust

The Eveson Charitable Trust has supported Birmingham Care Group since the start of the pandemic back in 2020. Their Chief Executive, Claire Bowry has been generous in understanding the challenges BCG has faced trying to feed our families. They have seen us progress from the food bank to the food pantry and have awarded us further funding towards the community hub.

Openwork Foundation

The Openwork Foundation has awarded Birmingham Care Group a grant towards the community. This grant is sponsored by a nominated member of the Openwork Partnership and we thank Mr Gautam Mehra for nominating our charity.

Local Giving

Through this organisation, we were able to secure grant funding from The National Grid. This was to help our marginalised communities who are suffering as a result of the rising fuel costs. We were able to create a warm space for our families during the Winter months.
